The Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Offa-meta, Oyo, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem has reaffirmed his commitment to quality healthcare delivery in the Council Area.

Adetunji stated this on Monday, during the inaugural meeting held with the members of Atiba Local Government Health Authority, the Primary Health Care Coordinator, LGA Teams, and Program Officers in Atiba Local Government Primary Health Care Board.

The Council Boss lauded the Primary healthcare officials for their prompt action toward productive grassroots healthcare delivery, stating that the essence of the meeting was to cement immediate actions on the prevention of the Cholera outbreak across the Royal Council for the safety of the residents and ushered a new era of quality healthcare at the grassroots level.

Hon. Adetunji however, commended the executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde FNSE for implementing a health insurance policy, One Primary Healthcare per Ward across the 351ward in Pacesetter State by extension, setting up the Primary Health Care Authority in all the 33 Local Government Areas of the State.

He said, “No doubt this sustainable PHCs development will give room for adequate discharge of quality health care services by members of staff directly to the grassroots people, with no cost attached” Wabkem assures.

Wabkem further used the medium to pledge his readiness to ensure more improvement in healthcare delivery, renovation of some health facilities, total support for all health programs, more sensitization/health education on Healthcare, tracking maternal mortality, active surveillance activities in the Royal Council as well as printing of more Health data tools for prompt reporting system in Atiba.

He thereafter, promised prompt attention to the needs of the Authority. Equally urged them not to hesitate to bring his attention, to whatever they needed.

The Primary Health care Officers led by Mrs Akinyemi O Mary(PHCC) expressed his appreciation to the Council Boss for being the first Local Government Chairman in the state to hold such a meeting and offered his readiness for quality healthcare delivery as well as proffer preventive measures for Cholera outbreak in maintaining a healthy living by the residents.

He said even though the Healthcare Board has been in existence since 2008, he can not but give kudos to the Federal Government through the National Health Care Primary Agency (NPHCDA) for the initiative and His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde FNSE support for adequate Healthcare delivery across the Pacesetter State.

The good people of the Royal Council are eagerly looking forward to the future with a restoration legacy and confidence in the council Boss’s commitment to their healthcare and well-being.
