As the Muslim community celebrates Eid-el-Kabir, the Oyo State Agency for Youths Development, under the leadership of Chairman Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim ummah, urging youths to embrace the values of sacrifice and obedience that the festival represents.
In a statement released to newsmen by the head of media to the chairman, Rasheed Olawale, Hon. Adebowale remarked that the celebration is a significant moment for Muslims to reflect on the importance of sacrifice and obedience in their lives.
He emphasized that the story of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail is a powerful reminder of the importance of obedience to Allah’s commandments.
Speaking further, Adebowale saluted the strong will of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde FNSE, for fostering a sense of unity and equality among different religions and their adherents in the state.
He encouraged the Muslim ummah to use the occasion to pray for a better and more prosperous society.
Adebowale urged Muslim youths to emulate the Prophet’s example by being obedient to their parents, teachers, and community leaders.
“Muslim youths must emulate the Prophet’s example by being obedient to elders, leaders, and community members,” he stated.
Adebowale congratulated the Muslim faithful on the occasion, noting that the festival is a time for renewal and reflection.
The agency boss also used the occasion to encourage the ummah not to forget to distribute food items, rams, and other essentials to the disadvantaged members of the community, in the spirit of the festival’s emphasis on charity and generosity.
Overall, the youth agency’s felicitation with the Muslim community on Eid-el-Kabir serves as a reminder of the importance of interfaith dialogue and collaboration.
