It was a moment of excitement and joy on Thursday, June 13, 2024, as hundreds of Oluyole residents, especially members of the Nigerian Beauticians/Hairdressers Association (NBHA) Oyo State, gathered at the Headquarters of Hair, Opeere, Podo, Ibadan, for the commissioning of a borehole and power generating set donated by Omoluabi Pataki Oloye Benedict Akika, the AgbaAkin Ataiyse Omoluabi Oodua Agbaye.

The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, alongside the former chairman, Dr. Popoola Olaide Settle, celebrated the commissioning with councillors and well-wishers.

At the commissioning, the founder of the association, Chief Mrs. Olubunmi Adesanya JP, expressed her excitement, asserting that Chief Benedict Akika is not just any politician but a prestigious personality.

“As usual, we have always taken the promises of some politicians as mysteries, but that of Agba’Akin Benedict Akika has absolutely been a promise fulfilled.

I thank God for being alive today, and I appreciate God for bringing AgbaAkin to us as a father,” she noted.

Similarly, the President of the association, Chief Mrs. Toyin Oladapo, expressed her delight for the wonderful deeds of Chief Benedict Akika to Oyo State and especially to the Nigerian Beauticians/Hairdressers Association (NBHA) Oyo State.

“Chief was introduced to the association as a patron to one of our branches, but we thank God for having him as a strong pillar for the association in Oyo State,” she stated.

While commissioning, the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, commended the humanitarian services of Chief Benedict Akika in Oyo State through the Omituntun Benedict Foundation, which has assisted the government led by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State.

He also promised, in his personal capacity, to extend support to the Nigerian Beauticians/Hairdressers Association (NBHA) Oyo State, one of the largest associations in Nigeria with many benefits to the government.

The community of Opeere and Oluyole Local Government, through the Baale, appreciated the donor, Oloye Benedict Akika, for the gesture which will serve the entire community and stands out in the environment of Oluyole.

In response, Chief Benedict Akika expressed his happiness and joy for the fulfillment of the promise, the unity in the association, and that of Oluyole Local Government.

He noted that the borehole is primarily for the community and supports to the sustainable agenda of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

The commissioning was entertaining with funfair activities such as a fashion parade and the presence of the Oluyole Local Government Chief of Staff, Leader of the House, councillors, community leaders and residents, members of the Omituntun Benedict Foundation (OBF), and branches of the Nigerian Beauticians/Hairdressers Association (NBHA) Oyo State, among others.
