The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade has delivered an inspiring message to the people of Ibadan North in celebration of Nigeria’s Democracy Day.
In his address, made available by the head of his media unit, Aderibigbe Yisahu Ajibola, the Chairman emphasized the importance of June 12, not only as a commemoration of past struggles but also as a reminder of the ongoing work required to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic values.
He highlighted the local government’s dedication to fostering an inclusive, just, and prosperous society.
His message reads:
“Dear indigenes and residents of Ibadan North,
On this auspicious occasion of Democracy Day, June 12, we come together to celebrate the strength, resilience, and unity of our great nation, Nigeria.
Today, we reflect on the journey of our democracy—a journey marked by our collective resolve to uphold the principles of freedom, justice, and equality.
As the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, I am proud to witness the spirit of democracy thriving in our local government.
Our commitment to democratic values has empowered us to achieve significant progress and fostered a sense of belonging and participation among our people.
Democracy Day is not just a commemoration of our past struggles but also a reminder of the work that lies ahead.
It is a call to every citizen to continue to engage in the democratic process, to voice our aspirations, and to contribute to the growth and development of our beloved Ibadan North and Nigeria at large.
