The Executive Chairman of Atiba Local Government, Offa-meta Oyo, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, today, while commemorating with residents of the Royal Council on Democracy Day, implored Nigerians to live in peace with one another.

In a statement released by his media director on digital communication, Wabkem said: “It is a new day and another moment of reflection on our past, the successes, the progress, and how far we have come in the strive toward making our land and people great.

“Today, we are here as a country and a people, reflecting on governance and our future as a democratic nation.

No doubt we have come a long way; there is room to learn, unlearn, and re-learn in our journey toward greatness.

As a government, we will continue to support the various security parastatals in our community.

We will continue to provide a conducive environment for our people to thrive.

“Our commitment remains firm in providing infrastructure, ensuring all sectors of development strive, such as good roads, schools, and primary health centers, among others in our restoration legacy.

No development occurs in a warring environment. Let us work together to keep our community and nation at peace.”

The golden Son of the Royal Council further asserts that our Local Government is committed to deepening democracy and ensuring that the dividends of democracy are felt by all.

As we celebrate our collective resilience and the strength of our democratic institutions. Happy Democracy Day!”
