The Oyo State Agency for Youth Development Chairman, Hon. Adebayo Adebowale Falana, has congratulated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde, FNSE, on the first anniversary of his second term in office.
In a statement released by the head of the media unit, Rasheed Olawale, Hon. Falana celebrated the five-year legacy and achievements of Governor Makinde, particularly in youth development, engagement, and empowerment.
According to Falana, the Governor’s youth-focused policies and programs serve as a model for visionary leadership aimed at developing self-reliant job creators.
He emphasized that Governor Makinde’s administration has fostered responsible, informed, and participatory youth entrepreneurs through initiatives such as waste-to-wealth creation, modern business practices, ICT self-reliance, life skills, marketing linkages, and a strong belief in youth capacity.
Falana further described Makinde’s tenure as a reflection of the collective will of the people of Oyo State and a testament to the governor’s commitment to democracy and good governance.
He lauded the governor’s achievements across the geopolitical zones, highlighting his dedication to accountability, transparency, and youth inclusiveness.
The statement read in part:
“Dear pride of the West, it’s the 5th year of sustainable development and youth inclusiveness in the Pacesetter State.
Through the Oyo State Government and the Agency for Youth Development, the following economic creation programs have been executed to mark this milestone:
- Situational analysis of current empowerment programs (wealth creation, vocational skills acquisition program, youth in agricultural business YEAP, short-term intensive skills training).
- Establishment of graduate youth employment schemes.
- Establishment of integrated farm settlement schemes.
- Establishment of skills acquisition centers and waste-to-wealth creation business clusters.
- Revival of vocational training schools and centers.
- Implementation of youth mobilization programs.
- Establishment of sports centers and facilities.
- Procurement of an 18-seater bus for the Indigenous Association and Student’s Union across tertiary institutions in Oyo State.
“Under your leadership, we look forward to more innovative programs for the youth constituency and continued greatness for the Pacesetter State,” Adebowale concluded.
