Former Oyo State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Prof. AbdulRahman Afonja PARA, has extended his congratulations to Governor Seyi Makinde on the occasion of his one-year anniversary in office.
Prof. Afonja praised the governor for his effective leadership and the significant strides made in various sectors of the state in the last five years.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, Prof. Afonja highlighted the governor’s achievements in infrastructure development, particularly in the state’s road network and the laudable light-up Oyo project.

He noted that these advancements have facilitated better transportation and boosted economic activities by improving access to markets and reducing travel times.

Prof. Afonja also commended Governor Makinde’s efforts in the healthcare sector, pointing to the renovation and upgrading of primary healthcare centers across Oyo State.

He praised the administration’s policies aimed at providing affordable and accessible healthcare to all residents.

Prof. Afonja also lauded continued support for the Amotekun Corps which has significantly tighten measure to enhance safety and maintain peace and order within the state.

While extolling the Governor’s visionary leadership in commissioning the monumental 76.67KM Iseyin-Fatope-Ogbomoso Road Project, PARA noted that the transformative endeavor stands as a shining example of the Governor’s steadfast dedication to infrastructure development and enhancing the lives of the good people of oyo state.

He added that he was committed to his vision and served him and the Oyo state people wholeheartedly in his government expressing gratitude to him for the rare opportunity. 

The Ex-Commissioner expressed optimism about the future under Governor Makinde’s leadership, urging all residents of Oyo State to continue supporting the administration’s efforts to build a more prosperous and equitable society.

Prof. Afonja reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the development of the state and called on other stakeholders to join hands in supporting Governor Makinde’s vision for a better and brighter future for all.
