Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade officially assumed his duties as the executive chairman of Ibadan North Local Government yesterday, marking the beginning of his administration with a series of significant activities and commitments to the local community.

A statement made by the Head of the Media Unit, Aderibigbe Yisahu, says that coinciding with Children’s Day celebrations, Hon. Olufade took the opportunity to emphasize his dedication to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for the youth.

“Our children are our future, and I am committed to creating a community where they can thrive,” he stated during a brief address to mark the occasion.

On his first day in office, Hon. Olufade held a crucial meeting with directors and heads of departments to ensure the smooth running of the local government’s administration.

This initial meeting set the stage for collaborative governance and effective service delivery.

In an unplanned but significant gesture, Hon. Olufade, accompanied by the Director of Administration, Alhaji Alabi L.K., visited the traditional chiefs of Ibadan North Local Government.

The interaction with the chiefs, led by Oba Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe, underscored the chairman’s respect for traditional institutions and his intention to work closely with them.

Oba Adebimpe praised Olufade, describing him as vibrant, intelligent, and humble, and expressed pride in his position as the youngest chairman in Oyo State.

He also offered prayers for a successful tenure.

Following the visit, the chairman conducted an inspection of the local environment and infrastructure.

Guided by Mrs. E. Akande, the Director of Environment, Hon. Olufade assessed the current state of cleanliness and public amenities. He declared a zero-tolerance policy for poor sanitation and urged officials and business operators within the council to maintain a clean environment.

“The health and well-being of our residents are paramount,” Hon. Olufade affirmed. “I will not tolerate a dirty environment. It is our collective responsibility to keep Ibadan North clean and habitable.”

Hon. Olufade’s proactive approach and immediate engagement with various facets of the community signal a promising start to his leadership. Residents and stakeholders are optimistic about the positive changes and development initiatives that his administration is expected to bring to Ibadan North Local Government.
