Following the official swearing in of Engr. Akeem Olatunji and his other 32 counterparts in the state as executive chairmen by the governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, top echelons of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), state functionaries, religious leaders and traditional rulers turned out in their numbers to grace the grand reception organized for Olatunji in Oluyole LG.

The reception, which was organized by Olatunji’s transition committee and the PDP, Oluyole local government chapter held today at the council secretariat, Idi-Ayunre.

Top among the state functionaries in attendance are the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Matters, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, national deputy chairman (south) of the PDP and former deputy governor of Oyo state, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiy Agbotomokekere, and the Chairman, Oyo state chapter, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Apostle Joshua Akinyemiju.

Other top state functionaries present include the chairman of Oyo state pension board, Honorable Ademola Ige, member representing Ibadan South East I at the state Assembly, Hon. Modiu Akande, Engr. Abdulkarheem Abduljelyl Adekunle Mogaji Adanla, as well as former commissioner, Hon Ayuba Balogun, a former House of representatives members from the local government, Hon Depo Oyedokun, Oyo State Chairman of Education Trust Fund, Barrister Abiodun AbduRaheem AbdulRahman, all Oluyole Baales, all Oluyole Babalojas and iyalojas, PMS State Treasurer, Comrade Idowu Owo Geesi, State Chairman of PMS Heavy Trucks, Comrade Akeem Cruzo, Comrade Omo Owo, Comrade Esho and others.

According to the chairman of Olatunji’s transition committee, Architect Salaam Azeez: “The physical presence of these key figure in government and our great party already reinforced the collective commitment to advancing the party’s agenda and ensuring sustained progress at the grassroots.”

Akeem Olatunji, in his address, expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support both these leaders and elders within the party, especially for the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Matters, Hon Segun Olayiwola, Ambassador Arapaja, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Oyo CAN Chairman, Hon. Ige, and other notable personalities in attendance.

He assured that he would in line with Governor Makinde’s guiding statement of ‘no excuse for failure’ hit the ground running immediately to bring about the expected dividends of democracy at the grassroots.

He outlined his vision for the future while emphasizing his dedication to inclusive development, unity, and transparency stressing that Oluyole remain a formidable and indivisible political family, assuring that he would work with all interests to sustain the unity and party cohesion in the council.

Highlight of the event was musical display where Ambassador Arapaja, the Commissioner for local government, and other important guests stormed the stage to dance with the Olatunjis.
