Following the official inauguration of the 33 newly elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen across Oyo State, former Oyo Commissioner for Works and Transport, Prof. AbdulRahman Raphael Afonja (PARA), has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly inaugurated leaders.

The statewide local government elections, conducted by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission on April 27th, 2024, resulted in a sweeping victory for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), marking a significant milestone in the political landscape of the state.

In his congratulatory message, Prof. Afonja praised the newly elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen for their dedication and commitment to public service, which earned them the trust and confidence of the electorate.

He emphasized the importance of their roles in driving development and governance at the grassroots level, urging them to uphold the values of integrity, transparency, and accountability in their respective offices.

He encouraged them to work collaboratively with other stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and civil society organizations, to address the pressing challenges facing their localities.

The inauguration ceremony, which took place in Ibadan, was attended by dignitaries, party officials, and supporters who gathered to celebrate the new leaders’ assumption of office.
