Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide (Odidiomo), member representing Ibadan North-west/Ibadan South-west federal constituency of Oyo state at the House of Representatives who is also the Chairman, House Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, has commended outgoing local government chairmen for their diligence and apt response to duties, while charging newly elected ones to serve with integrity, transparency, and accountability.

In a statement by Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs to Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, the two term lawmaker congratulated the outgoing chairmen for their selfless service and commitment to the development of their respective local governments.

“Your dedication and hard work have laid a solid foundation for the incoming chairmen to build upon.”

“I commend you for your service and wish you well in your future endeavors.”

Olajide also congratulated the newly elected chairmen, urging them to prioritize service delivery and put the people first.

“As you take office, remember that the dividend of democracy is not just about political power, but about improving the lives of the people.”

“Put the people first, listen to their concerns, and work tirelessly to address their needs.”

He admonished the new chairmen to be responsive, inclusive, and proactive in addressing challenges facing their respective local governments.

“You have a sacred responsibility to deliver quality services, promote economic growth, and ensure the well-being of the people.”

“I charge you to be innovative, transparent, and accountable in your stewardship and work in harmony with the state government to achieve the desired development goals.”

The newly elected chairmen, who will take the oath of office tomorrow at a swearing-in ceremony presided over by the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde, are expected to hit the ground running, tackling pressing issues such as infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and security.

Hon. Olajide also commended Governor Makinde for the smooth transition process devoid of acrimony or bitterness, particularly the wisdom and exceptional leadership provided by the Governor in resolving all pre and post-election fallout before the swearing-in of the new chairmen.

He urged the Governor not to relent in his effort at offering the right leadership and support to the incoming chairmen, who will be responsible for implementing the state government’s policies and programmes at the local government level.
