The Chairman-elect of the Royal Council, Offa-meta, Oyo, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, along with his running mate, Hon. Badmus Olaide Ismail, received a certificate of return from the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) in Ibadan on Friday.
OYSIEC Chairman, Barrister Isiaka Olagunju SAN, presented the certificate of return to all the Chairman-elect and their vice at the ceremony held at the commission headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State.
In a statement released on the Facebook page of the Royal Council Chairman-elect, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem stated:
“Earlier today, I received a certificate of return as Chairman-elect of Atiba Local Government, Offa-meta, Oyo, from the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) alongside my running mate, Hon. Badmus Ismail Olaide.
“The official presentation took place at the OYSIEC secretariat in Ibadan, acknowledging the confidence reposed in us by the good people of the Royal Council, who voted overwhelmingly for us across the region to ensure our victory.
“We promise to restore the legacy of the Royal Council, focusing on infrastructural development, agribusiness, empowerment, vocational training, UNESCO standards of education, healthcare delivery, and other essential aspects of democracy. Wabkem assured.
“We are committed to serving you with integrity, transparency, an open-door policy, dedication, and a model of good governance aimed at meeting the needs of the people.
“Thank you once again for freely exercising your franchise to vote PDP. Together, we will build a better life.
Restoration legacy is here to stay!
Hon. Waliu Wabkem will assume leadership on May 24, 2024, as the executive Governor of Oyo State, with His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde expected to inaugurate all the Chairman-elect at the House of Chiefs Secretariat in Ibadan.”
