The Alumni Association of St. Patrick’s Grammar School, Ibadan has paid the NECO examination fees for all final-year students of the school.
About 50 students registered to participate in the examination but only a handful paid due to the economic situation of the country.
The Alumni Association therefore decided to pay for all the students and also refunded money paid for the handful of students.
According to the President of the Association, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, the body of old students is determined to uplift the academic standard and performance of the students and restore the school to its glorious past.
He also recalled that the Alumni Association recently supplied desks and benches to support infrastructure in the school.
He urged the Alumni body and other Associations to partner with the government in uplifting the educational standards of their different schools as it is becoming more obvious that the governments have more than enough to chew on their plates.
Dr. Mobereola expressed his appreciation to the old students for their dedication and sacrifice and especially the class Sets in making the National Alumni efforts more impactful.
He pledged a robust collaboration with all the educational stakeholders in the state as he mobilises the Alumni body in giving back to their Alma Mater.
