The Iyaloja General of Oyo state, Princess Folashade Abeo Nurudeen has commiserated with the people of Igboora and entire staff of the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa over the sudden death of its governing council chairman, Professor Abiodun Ojo.
Professor Ojo was pronounced dead in the late hours of Tuesday, April 23, 2024, after a brief illness.
In her condolence message on Thursday, Princess Abeo described the passing of Prof Ojo as a big loss to Igboora, Ibarapa and Oyo state, stating that he was not only a renowned academia but a committed community leader who has touched several lives with every opportunity he had.
The Iyaloja General, who equally extended her condolences to the Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Cooperatives in Oyo state, Honorable Ademola Ojo popularly called ‘Ijaya’, said she received the news of his brother’s death with a rude shock, noting that the late professor would be missed by everyone, including university communities.
She urged Ijaya to take solace in the fact that his late brother was committed to the service of mankind.
Princess Abeo prayed for eternal rest for the deceased, noting that the late deceased would be sorely missed by family, friends and associates.
She said: “I received with pain the news of the passing of Professor Abiodun Ojo, the brother of Oyo Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Cooperatives in Oyo state, Honorable Ademola Ojo popularly called ‘Ijaya’.
“Professor Ojo’s passing is just one of many that have left a large vacuum that will be challenging to fill. During this difficult time, my prayers and thoughts are with the Honorable Commissioner for Trade, family members and all of other community members.
“May God give you and yours the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.”
The Iyaloja General equally highlighted Professor Ojo’s contributions to academics and his influence on the community describing him as a ‘doyen in academics’.
She stated in particular his role in the establishment of Tai Solarin College of Education, which is currently known as Tai Solarin University of Education, and Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa.
