Ahead of the local government Election in Oyo State, A Chieftain of New Nigeria Peoples Party Hon Opeyemi Semiu Folarin has joined People’s Democratic Party in ido local government.
The defection of Hon Folarin to PDP was an indication that the structure of NNPP in all 10 wards in Ido local has collapsed to support the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration in state.
Receiving Hon Folarin and his teeming followers from all wards in Ido council the state secretary of PDP Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke urged the new members led Hon Folarin to work harmoniously with others members to ensure victory of PDP in the forthcoming local government so that dividends of democracy can continue in all council areas in the state.
Alhaji Adeleke who acknowledged the political influence of Hon Folarin said the Ido PDP has further strengthening ahead of the April 27 local government Election.
While addressing his supporters Hon Opeyemi Semiu Folarin said the leadership style of Governor Seyi Makinde coupled with developmental programmes aimed at transforming every nook and cranny of the state.
Hon. Folarin stressed that with less than five years in office the Seyi Makinde led administration has strategically regain the pace setting status of oyo state through various unprecedented developmental projects.
He also commended the chairman Ido local government Hon Sheriff Adeojo for replicating the good governance style of Governor Seyi Makinde at his council area.
” Now that I have fully joined the PDP the progress of the party will continue to be my utmost priority. All my loyalists from ward 1 to 10 will work all round to ensure victory of Hon Sheriff Adeojo in the April 27 local government election” Hon Folarin said.
” Since I joined NNPP in Ido local government I have being the one financing the party. I only met 5 members before I joined NNPP in council area.
There was no formidable political structure for NNPP in Ido local government.
I use my money and political influence to drive the party in the council area.As of today I am no longer under the south west leader of NNPP Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan.Folarin said.
