The streets of Ibadan North Constituency 1 erupted into a festive atmosphere yesterday, March 15, 2024 as the PDP’s Chairmanship Candidate, Oluwaseun Olufade, led a spirited campaign rally through Ward 2 of Ibadan North Local Government. Accompanied by his Vice, Hon. Akeem Ayoade, party executives, party leaders, party members, serving councilors, councillorship candidates, and most importantly Ward 2’s Councilorship candidate, Hon. Temitope Olasemo.
Olufade’s procession traversed Sapati, Oopo, Nalende, Bola, and the roundabout area, drawing cheers and applause from residents at every turn.
Following the energetic road tour, the campaign shifted gears to a stakeholders meeting, attracting a diverse crowd comprising community leaders, PDP leaders, serving and concilorship Candidates, party executives, and Ward 2 residents.
Under the guidance of Prince Adebowale Falana, Director-General of Olufade’s campaign committee, attendees voiced their aspirations for the ward’s development.
Requests for urgent infrastructure improvements, including road reconstruction, solar lighting installations, and enhanced security measures, resonated strongly among the community members.
Notable figures like Hon. Mogaji Adeta, Mr. Gabriel Oludare, and Alfa Alagbada passionately articulated these concerns, emphasizing the need for tangible progress under Olufade’s leadership.
“If Hon. Olufade becomes victorious in the forthcoming local government election and assumes duty as Ibadan North executive chairman, he should help facilitate the reconstruction of our bad roads,” urged Hon. Mogaji Adeta.
“The Ward 2 area should be illuminated with solar light by Hon. Seun Olufade if he becomes the chairman,” demanded Mr. Gabriel Oludare.
“Adequate security is essential for peace of mind,” emphasized Alfa Alagbada.
Madam Akande Bolatito expressed her demands, stating, “We demand more boreholes to be built in the area. I appreciate former caretaker chairman of Aare Latosa, Hon. Kazeem Oshoniyi, for giving us the borehole that the community is enjoying till date.”
Also, one of the leaders from Ward 2, Baba Ayilara, appreciated Hon. Kazeem Oshoniyi for his past performance, stating, “His achievements are still there to speak for him. I urge all the residents in Ward 2 to come out en masse to vote for PDP from top to bottom in the forthcoming Local Government.”
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Comforter, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency 1, underscored the importance of unity and urged residents to rally behind the PDP candidates in the upcoming election.
In response to the community’s demands, Hon. Temitope Olasemo pledged to be a responsive representative, while Hon. Akeem Ayoade assured unwavering support as vice-chairmanship candidate.
Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on the community’s needs if elected.
Hon. Babatunde David Olaniyan (Akoro), the Ibadan North Local Government federal constituency campaign coordinator, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees and urging them to continue supporting the PDP’s vision for progress and development in Ibadan North Local Government.
The event attracted a notable turnout of political figures, including: Baba Ismail Asipa, Oyo State Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (Don), Shooting Star sole Administrator, Hon. Babatunde David Olaniyan (Akoro), Hon. Olufunke Comforter, Lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency 1, Hon. Laolu, Ibadan North Local Government vice chairman, Ibadan North PDP vice chairman, Comrade Mustapha, S.A to Governor Seyi Makinde on Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Julian Nwachuku, Hon. Kazeem Oshoniyi, Former Aare Latosa LCDA Caretaker Chairman, Elder Kola Raufu, Hon. Egbende, Hon. Abiodun Agboluaje, Hon. Joshua Oladapo, Hon. Olusoji Alade and many other party luminaries.
As the day concluded, the campaign stage came alive with musical performances, adding an extra layer of excitement to the already vibrant atmosphere and reaffirming the community’s united front in support of Oluwaseun Olufade’s bid for change in Ward 2.
