As the month of Ramadan 1445 commences today across the globe, the lyaloja-General of Oyo State, Princess Folashade Abeo Nurudeen, on Monday, felicitated with Muslims faithful.
Princess Abeo, who described the period as a blessed month in which Allah rewards the worship of the Muslim Ummah, charged Muslims to engage more in prayers for the state and the country at large.
A congratulatory message signed by her Media Aide, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, and made available to journalists in Ibadan, indicated that Iyaloja-General charged the market traders and artisans to pray for the unity, peace and progress of the markets in the state, with a view to getting out of the current economic doldrums.
She similarly urged traders to use this period to demonstrate tolerance and sacrifice for one another, which represent some of the cardinal principles of Prophet Mohammed.
The statement read, “Today, I felicitate my Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of the commencement of the month of Ramadan 1445.
“I want to say this is another opportunity offered to us by Allah (SWT) to serve Him and seek His face more in this trying period we have found ourselves as a nation.
“So, I will encourage all and sundry to make good use of the opportunity as always in the area of imbibing and demonstrating the teachings of Prophet Mohammed to reflect the true essence of this holy month.
“Let us be tolerant and show love to one another as we journey through the Holy month and I am confident that God, in his infinite mercy, will be on our side. Together we shall see the end of this holy month. Happy Ramadan celebration.”
