The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government elections in Oyo State, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, and his vice, Badmus Olaide Ismail, extend wishes and congratulations to the Muslim ummah on the start of Ramadan Kareem today.

In a statement released and made available to newsmen in Oyo township, Wabkem calls on Muslims to use the holy month of Ramadan to pray for Allah’s unlimited blessings upon Nigeria.

He emphasizes that Ramadan teaches us self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate, thereby promoting acts of generosity.

The Frontline Chairmanship candidate further stresses that this holy month of Ramadan reminds us of the noble values inherent in Islam, such as compassion, mutual respect, and humility.

He urges the Muslim faithful to utilize the Ramadan period to unite its people and bring relative peace, sustainable progress, and development to the nation, as he is fully determined to transform the Royal Council when fortune smiles on him at the poll.

“This is a reminder that as Nigerians, we must come together and work towards building a better future for our country. Hunger, inflation, and food scarcity have led to thousands of deaths through suicide, which is against humanity like pious Muslims.”

“Ramadan embodies the values of peace, resilience, and generosity. It is a period of reflection and prayer, an opportunity to come together and uplift each other. So, we should take inspiration from this spirit and remember with kindness the vulnerable, the poor, and those bereaved,” he reiterates.

The council boss then prays that the Holy Month brings peace and guides us all towards a more just and compassionate world.
