The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun, on Monday, installed His Eminence, the Aare Musulumi of Yoruba, Edo, Delta and Kogi, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola as well as his wife, Alhaja Mariam Olubukola Akinola, as the Aare and Yeye Aare of Ibadanland.

The official conferment of the chieftaincy titles held today at the King’s Alarere Palace in Ibadan.

The event which was attended by the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, also had in attendance several dignitaries including former Governor of Oyo state, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja; Member House of Representatives, Ido Ibarapa Federal Constituency, Hon. Remi Oseni, Oyo Deputy Speaker, Fadeyi Abiodun; Governor Seyi Makinde’s ally, Otunba Seye Famojuro and Double T and Senator Soji Akanbi.

Speaking shortly after the conferment of the chieftaincy titles, the Aare of Ibadanland expressed his profound gratitude to the monarch and the Olubadan-in-Council for deeming it fit to install him as the Aare of Ibadanland.

The business mogul cum Islamic leader equally appreciated the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal for personally gracing the occasion despite his busy schedule.

He extolled Barr. Lawal’s virtues, stating that he remains one of the best Deputy Governor Oyo state has had.

“The Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal has always been supportive and has been relating with everyone with pure mind.

“He is one of the best deputy governor we’ve ever had in the history of Oyo state. He’s humble and constantly treats everyone with kindness and humility.

“I pray Allah will continue to strengthen your smooth relationship with your boss, Seyi Makinde”.

The Aare equally lauded governor Seyi Makinde for his all inclusive system of governance that has greatly engendered interfaith harmony in the state adding that since the Governor assumed office, the people of Oyo state has continued to enjoy good governance while expanding the state economy.

Among those who also attended the event include Baba Adini of Oyo state, Abdul-Hameed Ajadi; Baba Isale Musulumi of Ibadanland, Baba Arole Iba Lawal Akande; Gov. Makinde’s Persona assistant, Alhaji Akeem Azeez; SSA to Oyo Governor on LG and Chieftaincy matters, Hon. Ramota Agberemi Dabo; Chairman Agric Credit, Alhaji Taofik Akewugbagold; Oluyole PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Akeem Olatunji; Former Special Adviser on LG and Chieftaincy Matters; Adeniyi Adeyinka Kazeem and Hon. Lukman Olajide.

Others are market leaders including Alhaji YK Abass; Princess Folashade Abeo; Ibadan mogajis; traditional leaders; representatives of Muslim societies; Islamic clerics and other well wishers.
