As preparation towards the conduct of April 27, 2024 local government election gathers momentum, a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo has given assurance that the party would record 100 percent victory for the Chairman and all the 10 councillorship candidates in Oluyole Local government area during the election.
Hon. Waheed Akintayo gave the assurance yesterday at the party’s campaign rally held at Ward 5, Idi Ayunre, Ibadan.
Hon. Akintayo assured that he would give all the necessary support morally, financially and logistically to the campaign exercise of the party towards ensuring landslide victory for the PDP candidates in the said local government.
Hon. Akintayo who lauded the giant strides of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde in every aspect of governance, stressed that with the Governor’s performance, the party is already coasting home to victory because the governor has made the campaign less stressful for the party.
He called on all the party faithful to work in synergy and not allow any divisive tendency that may jeopardize their success at the polls.
Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of the party in Oluyole local government, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola charged party members in ward five to be steadfast and remain committed to the success of the party during the upcoming council election just as they did for Engr. Makinde and State Assembly candidate in the 2023 general election.
The PDP chairmanship candidate, Engr. Akeem Olatunji in his remark, promised to run an all inclusive government that will benefit both the politicians and the general public when he assume office as the elected chairman come April, 2024.
Others present at the campaign rally were the Director-General of the Campaign committee, Architect Salam Azeez, Alhaji Fatai Ogunrin, Hon. AbdulAzeez Babalola, Secretary Oluyole local government, wife of the party’s chairmanship candidate, Alhaja Balkis Olatunji, members of campaign committee as well as other leaders of the party in Oluyole local government area.
