The lawmaker representing Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency, Hon Dhikirulahi Adedeji Stanley Olajide who is popularly known as Odidiomo, has expressed his sympathy for residents of Bodija and its environs and the entire Ibadan land following the explosion that occurred in the area last night, resulting in numerous injuries, fatalities, and extensive property damage.

In a statement personally signed by him and made available to the press in Ibadan, Hon. Dhikirulahi Adedeji lamented the unfortunate incident while commending the proactive measures taken by the Oyo State Government to rescue residents and provide immediate relief to affected families.

“The distressing news shook the city of Ibadan yesterday evening, but our proactive Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, swiftly took necessary actions by making crucial calls and visiting the scene of the unfortunate incident.

It is worth noting that Oyo State is governed by a man who prioritizes the welfare and security of its citizens,” Hon. Dhikirulahi Adedeji stated.

“Just as His Excellency has emphasized, ‘when you see something, say something,’ in order for security personnel to effectively carry out their duties and prevent future occurrences of such incidents.”

Hon. Dhikirulahi Adedeji extended his sympathy to the victims and assured them that as leaders, they will support the government in providing relief to those affected by this tragic incident.

The Chairman Committee on Information and ICT, also used this opportunity to urge residents to assist security operatives by providing vital and useful information. He emphasized that this collaboration would help to prevent and forestall similar incidents in the future.

Furthermore, he called for calm among residents, assuring them that the administration of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde remains committed to prioritizing the security of lives and properties of its citizens.
