Following the empowerment programme in Oyo town, the Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Princess Folashade Abeo Nurudeen, continued her dedication to community empowerment with her visit on Saturday to Ibarapaland where she was welcomed with great fanfare.
The visit, which was part of her ongoing Empowerment Initiative, focused on uplifting over 300 market traders and artisans.
Recall that the Iyaloja General’s empowerment train had earlier stormed Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun zone, and Oyo town where essential materials and cash were distributed to market traders and artisans.
Her Royal Highness, Oba Kingsley Aderoju, the Onidere of Idere land, warmly welcomed Princess Abeo to Idereland, along with Babalojas and Iyalojas and Markets clusters representatives from the three Local Government Areas in the Ibarapa zone.
The event witnessed the distribution of machines, generators, and other essential items, as well as cash palliatives to beneficiaries, fostering economic independence.
Princess Abeo, who stopped in Igboora on her way back, where she was also welcomed with great affection by HIM Oba Jimoh Titiloye Asoroolu Ayinla V, the Olu of Igboora and Chairman of the Ibarapaland Traditional Council, reaffirmed her commitment to empowering petty market traders and artisans across Oyo state.
According to her, the aim is to assist artisans and market women especially petty traders who are into various kinds of trade.
She noted that the gesture was part of her vision to uplift petty market traders and artisans who were economically challenged whilst promising to also get them grants that will enable them to support their business.
The Iyaloja General however expressed her gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated her dedication to improving the lives of market traders and artisans as she emphasized that the initiative is aimed to provide tangible support during challenging economic times as well as to contribute to the economic development of local communities.
A statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday by her Chief Press Secretary, Mr Alawode Rahmon, quoted that Princess Abeo also doled out staple foods to market traders and artisans in Oyo town to commemorate the 56th birthday celebration of Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde.
She also made an appearance at the governor’s birthday celebration, where she joined high-ranking Oyo government officials in prayerfully wishing Governor Makinde a long life, prosperity in good health and wealth, and the discernment to lead the state’s affairs.
Among the market leaders at the Ibarapaland empowerment programmes were chief Mrs. Nuratu Adeagbo iya Loja general Ayete, (2) chief Ganiyu Adeoye baba Loja general Ayete , (3) Bisiriyu olubanji lyalaje general Ayete, (4) Mrs. Ogunleke Rafatu lyaloja general Tapa, (5) chief Oyedepo Oludele , baba Loja general Tapa, (6) Mrs. Ogunleke Alice iyalaje general Tapa , (7) Adeoye Bushi iyaloja Igangan (8) Ogunwole baba Loja general Igangan, (9) Ogundeji Bilikisu iyalaje general Igangan and Babaloja Igb Ora as well as Secretary General to the Ibarapa Council of Iyaloja/Iyalaje and Babaloja/Babalaje.
