In continuation of the Ward tour to engage and inform the community and key stakeholders crucial to the election’s success, Atiba Ward 01 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) witnessed a spirited gathering. Stakeholders, leaders, and loyal party members united to declare their support for Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, alongside his vice, Badmus Olaide Ismail, and all Councilorship candidates.

Amidst cheers from the mammoth crowd, Oke-Aafin party members turned out in force on Wednesday to welcome their Son, a compassionate politician, during their weekly general meeting in Oyodero, Sakutu, Oyo township.

The Ward Chairman, Comrade Rasheed Ojelakin, described the event as a carnival, reaffirming the party’s backing for their noble Son, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, unanimously chosen to lead the affairs at the Royal Council. He emphasized Wabkem’s profound peaceful character and unifying spirit since becoming the party’s candidate.

“To avoid staying in the dark, party members chose to support a credible candidate irrespective of party affiliation,” noted Comrade Ojelakin.

Atiba PDP Party Chairman, Hon. Kabiru Ashamu, and State Executive, Alhaji Olanrewaju Muhammed, commended the overwhelming support from Ward One party faithful. They urged members not to waver in promoting the PDP’s message for a landslide victory in the upcoming local government elections.

“For those not satisfied with the process, we apologize; today is not your turn. Tomorrow could be your turn, so be patient,” they assured.

Alhaji Quadri Olatunji, counseling party members, lauded their unwavering support. He guaranteed that Hon Wahab Waliu Adetunji and Badmus Ismail Olaide would deliver quality representation at the grassroots level, urging people to vote for PDP across the board.

“Wabkem remains our true Son, acceptable across units and wards, a Democrat per excellence, ready to turn things around for the better development of the Royal Council,” he affirmed.

Appreciation was expressed for the support of Engr Seyi Makinde, Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu, Hon. Mudashiru Kamil Akinlabi, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, and Barrister Seun Ashamu, who worked to bring back the legacy of the Royal council through a unifying candidate.

Baba Yekinni Ewe emphasized the need for more dividends of democracy at the Royal Council, urging party members not to relent in their efforts for a massive victory.

Representatives of the youth and women leaders promised to deliver massive votes.

In response, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji, in a joyful mood, commended his ward members for the warm reception and assured victory for all candidates in April 2024. He addressed concerns raised by those working against his candidacy, emphasizing his commitment to inclusive governance and delivering democracy’s dividends directly to the people.

Wabkem reiterated that he’s in a race to bring massive development and ensure the government’s presence is deeply felt at the grassroots level, fostering faster communication and responsiveness to the people’s needs.

In his entourage are all Councilorship candidates, Hon Kabiru Ashamu, Hon. Kehinde Aleem, Alh Araokanmin Arowolo, Alh Goke Azeez, Hon Lekan Salam, Oloye Abdul Fatai Wahab Yusuff Masunlo, Alh Gafar Obalola, Alh Mustapha Alesinladu, along with Team Wabkem, all Ward Chairmen, all Ward youth leaders, women leaders, and several others.
