In a heartwarming gesture of community support and commitment to maintaining law and order, Agbaakin olorundaaba, Chief Benedict Akika, the founder of the Omituntun Benedict Forum, expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State.
The governor fulfilled his promise by donating a police operation vehicle to the Olorunda Aba Police Divisional Headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State, on October 26, 2023.
Chief Benedict Akika, known for his philanthropic efforts, had previously built and donated a police station to the Olorunda Aba community.
Governor Makinde commissioned this police station on March 30, 2023, marking his commitment to improving law enforcement infrastructure in the region.
During the commissioning ceremony earlier this year, Governor Makinde had pledged to donate an operational vehicle to the division. Keeping his word, the governor handed over the operational vehicle today, with Chief Benedict Akika present to witness this significant moment.
Chief Benedict Akika commended Governor Makinde for his prompt action, describing him as a “Mr. Talk and Do.”
He expressed his admiration for the governor’s dedication to the state, emphasizing that Governor Makinde serves as an inspiration to him. Chief Akika promised to continue extending his support to the community and the broader Oyo State.
Notably, the police station’s commissioning occurred on the same day that Governor Makinde made a promise to award the road construction of Akobo Olorunda Aba before the end of Omituntun 1.0 which he fulfilled.
The flagoff was done at the beginning of Omituntun 2.0.
Chief Benedict Akika stressed the importance of the new operational vehicle in enabling the police to maintain peace and tranquility in the area.
He urged the police to use the vehicle for its intended purpose and ensure its proper maintenance.
