Education is the bedrock of any climate desirous of a change.

Across the globe, it has been empirically proven that the more educated a society is, the more developed it gets.

Aptly put, you can only give what you have or if you don’t have education, how do you develop?

The Inauguration of Hon. Oluwaseun Oluwatobi Olufade as the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government Area, May 29th, 2024 was welcomed across board as a right peg in a right hole.

Being the youngest man out of the 33 Elected Chairmen across the state, it is largely expected that his youthfulness and candour will be put to great advantage at advancing the growth and development of his LGA, across all spheres.

Just as expected, the first 2 months of his administration was spent visiting sites, markets, areas and more so as to get first hand information as to the yearnings, challenges and opportunities that the LGA has to deal with.

Most importantly for him, was the state of Education in the Local Government Area.

Almost every school in the LGA was paid a visit. Strategically meeting with the Headmasters and Headmistresses as the case may be, clearly was the best way to get the best information that would be used to attack the cardinals of decay that faces and attacks education in the LGA.

It was to be a bottom to top approach.

Primary schools first then Secondary later or how do we produce quality secondary school student if they are not quality from primary level?

How do we describe situations, where citizens send their kids back to classrooms after school hours to break furnitures made by the government so as to use by the family as firewood? Shocking exposé it was for our team at 2 different schools, when we were told these stories.

Quite unbelievable but true. A visit to schools in Mokola and Ikolaba confirmed how urchins break iron windows, roofing sheets, metal windows and even more leaving these towers of learning as basic skeletons and shadows of their old selves or do we tell the students and their teachers to attack their armed and dangerous attackers? Who will bell the cat? A sad tale !

Olufade as the Ibadan North LGA Chairman is the chairman of all, and an administrator of all sectors wanting to leave every thing touched even way better that they were met but how do we deal with these bottlenecks that makes government keep investing in the same thing over and over when all they think of is destruction? We are not a government that wants the children of the underprivileged to stay at home and hawk.

The deal is that ALL OUR CHILDREN MUST BE EDUCATED AND EMPOWERED TO BE GREAT.

We see how peers of these divine gifts are making impacts in developed parts of the world, so that will happen in Ibadan North, and Oyo State as a whole.

Are we folding our arms and staring as a reporter of a media platform once wrote? Hell No! This administration is taking measures to ensure that education gets so interesting for our wards.

That we don’t do media propaganda doesn’t mean we are sleeping on the issues.

For instance, the 2024 international day of the Girl Child, was celebrated by this administration at The St. Louis Grammar School, Mokola to talk to the beautiful girls and share some gifts.

A number of schools have gotten exercise books from the LGA and almost all public schools in the LGA will be getting some new furnitures to wrap up the year ending.

We will keep doing our bit, step by step.

For the urchins destroying the works of the government and making learning harder for our children, Ibadan North LGA has become a No Go Zone moving forward.

Whoever gets caught in the middle of these breakdowns will be brought to face the music. He who has ears, let him hear.

Many of our fathers and even leaders didn’t attend private schools in their time and they are today doyens and captains of industries, top executives of companies and all JUST because some people were kind and smart enough to leave the schools how they met them or even way better.

We will return to those glorious days, soon!

Dear Teacher, your reward is coming. Olufade Oluwaseun knows your reward is in heaven (so we read and heard those years) but we’dstart the preliminaries of the rewards from here.

We would not leave you to it. We will make you happy.

This government is for you and we will carry you along.

We are entering into the year 2025 with a headlong approach to the loopholes noticed and the promise is simple, education will return to its valued place in Ibadan North Local Government.

This Mr. Chairman has promised.

It’s not a joke that our LGA is the landlord of countless academic landmarks like the University of Ibadan (Nigeria’s first), The Polytechnic, Ibadan (A legend in her right), The ISI, Abadina College, and so many schools that have produced world class icons.

We are reclaiming our rightful position and you’d be happy we are here.

Keep supporting Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade in all modes possible and always remember, our doors are opened always to hear from you, as this government is for you, by you and with you.

We will return soon with our reports of stewardship. You’d love to read them.

Oloye Ademola Titilopemi Ajibola is the Special Adviser on Education to the Executive Chairman, Ibadan North LGA, Hon. Oluwaseun Oluwatobi Olufade (Onala).
