On the International Day for Rural Women, Princess Nurudeen Azeezat folashade Abeo, a prominent market leader in Oyo State, has praised rural women for their exceptional contributions to agriculture and food production.

She also urged Governor Seyi Makinde to provide greater support and resources to empower these women and enhance their livelihoods.

In an address made available to media, Princess Afolashade Abeo Nurudeen highlighted the vital role that women play in ensuring food security and promoting sustainable agriculture. She commended their resilience, hard work, and dedication to cultivating healthy and nutritious food.

“Our rural women are the backbone of our communities,” Princess Nurudeen stated. “They are the ones who toil in the fields, nurture our crops, and feed our families.

Their contributions are invaluable, and we must do all we can to support and empower them.”

While acknowledging the challenges faced by rural women, including limited access to land, credit, and markets, Princess Nurudeen called on Governor Makinde to implement policies and programs that address these barriers.

She suggested initiatives such as providing agricultural loans, improving rural infrastructure, and establishing women-only markets to facilitate the sale of their produce.

“Governor Makinde has demonstrated a strong commitment to the development of Oyo State,” Princess Nurudeen said.

“I urge him to prioritize the needs of our rural women and provide them with the necessary support to succeed.”

By investing in rural women, Governor Makinde cannot only boost agricultural productivity but also create jobs, reduce poverty, and improve the overall well-being of his constituents.
