The Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. George Ogunlade, has empowered over 150 widows, physically challenged people, aged, women and unemployed youth as part of activities marking his 100 days in office.

According to the Chairman, the recipients were selected from ten wards across the local government area with the intention of improving the community and cushioning the effect of subsidy removal.

Ogunlade equally distributed writing materials, chalk, and banners bearing the new lyrics to the National Anthem to more than 35 primary and secondary schools within the Local Government.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the growth of Ogbomoso North Local Government, noting that he has come to serve his people.

The chairman explained that the cash donation was a demonstration of his commitment to improving the socio-economic status of his constituents.

He added that his major goal is to improve the living standard of the people of Ogbomoso North Local Government by making them self-reliant.

The LG boss stated this at the 100 Days in office celebration and empowerment programme of his administration, held at the council secretariat on Friday.

Ogunlade also distributed food grains to people with disabilities, as well as rewarded Ogbomoso Football Players for winning the Oyo State UNICEF football competition.

He commended Governor Seyi Makinde for providing him the platform to serve his people at the grassroot, even just as he assured that this gesture will continue in batches.

“The positive feedback from our people over the last 100 days has further strengthened our resolve to put people first in everything we do, and we will continue to push for empowerment programs because they are essential to achieving our goal of elevating Ogbomoso North to new heights,” he stated.

“Until I leave office, I will keep empowering our people. We now know that employment and empowerment ultimately reduces poverty, strengthens the local economy, and fosters self-reliance among the populace. Something that is effective cannot be stopped.”

The event was attended by key political figures, including Ogbomoso North vice chairman, Hon. Salawu Taofeek Adigun, Ogbomoso North party chairman, Hon.
