Today marks exactly 100 days since Hon. Oladebo Ibrahim Simple, the indefatigable and amenable Vice Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, assumed office as the Political Head/Administrator of Ajorosun Local Council Development Area (LCDA). In this short period, Hon. Simple has made remarkable strides in governance, demonstrating his commitment to serving the people of Ajorosun LCDA.
From day one, Hon. Simple embarked on a familiarization tour of major markets and motor parks within the jurisdiction of Ajorosun LCDA. This tour was aimed at acquainting himself with the market and motor park leaders, as well as gaining a firsthand understanding of the situation on the ground.
A staunch advocate for environmental sustainability, Hon. Simple has kept a keen eye on the happenings within his environment. His swift intervention in rescuing a destitute man along the Olodo axis is a testament to his compassion and responsiveness. Not only did he ensure the man received immediate medical care, but he also provided food, financial assistance, and has continued to check on his well-being.
In a bid to enhance efficiency among the council workers, Hon. Simple, with his vast knowledge in technology, procured Android phones for them. This initiative is expected to improve the speed, efficiency, and effectiveness of their work.
One of the most notable actions taken by Hon. Simple during his 100 days in office was the peaceful resolution of a potentially deadly conflict at Onibuore Market. The dispute, which arose from the demolition of the Onibuore Abattoir, was amicably settled by Hon. Simple, who urged butchers and traders to maintain peace and order.
Despite his busy schedule, the Political Head/Administrator made time for an oversight and on-the-spot assessment visit to the Omituntun Shopping Complex in Olodo. During the visit, he charged the site engineer to ensure the project’s timely completion.
In his continuous efforts to enforce order, Hon. Simple also visited a site where illegal structures were being constructed and issued an immediate stop notice. Furthermore, he inspected the “Welcome to Egbeda Market Academy” at Iwo Road to ensure compliance with environmental sanitation regulations.
Throughout his tenure, Hon. Simple has remained accessible to stakeholders, who view him as a leader with a lot to offer. His administration has also engaged with various groups, including the Centre for Community Health and Poverty Alleviation (CHEPA) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ajorosun LCDA Division, addressing critical community health and security issues.
In just 100 days, Hon. Simple has brought about significant change and development to Ajorosun LCDA, leaving a lasting impact on the community and his workers. His commitment to their welfare is evident in his actions and policies.
