The Executive Chairman of Atiba local government, Offa-meta, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem has felicitated with Muslim residents of the Royal Council on the occasion of the Eid-el-kabir festival.

In a statement released and made available to newsmen by his director of digital communication, lauded the Muslim Ummah on the Ileya festival, and urged them to emulate the sacrifice made by prophet Ibrahim.

Wabkem stated that Eid-el-Kabir comes with significant lessons for mankind claiming that the festive teaches sacrifice, charity, love, and piety among others for harmonious relationships.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the sustainable legacy of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE in its efforts at turning around the fortunes of the state across all sectors.

He also encouraged the Muslim faithful to work with other religious faiths for the peace, unity, and progress of Nigeria. “This symbolic Islamic festival is a reminder to us that there will always be great rewards when we have abiding faith and patience in trying periods; persistence in prayers, and tenacity in our belief”. He said.

The Council Boss charged everyone on the need to remain each other’s keeper which is the panacea for a peaceful Nigeria.

The council Boss congratulated all Muslim faithful on the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and prayed that Almighty Allah would grant all their heart desires and preserve their lives to witness many more celebrations in the land of the living.

He, however, encouraged Nigerians to support the government at all levels by fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities as good citizens and enjoined all residents of the council area to pay their taxes, levies, and rates as this is the only way the council can generate revenue for more dividend of democracy to the people at the grassroots.
