An Ibadan based Islamic Cleric; Sheik Abdulazeez Abdulkazim Bello has condemned the November, 2023 attack on the family of a 29year old gay in Ibadan named Oyetunde Bamidele Isaac.
Sheik Abdulazeez said the act of homosexual is an abominable act before Allah apart from the fact that Nigeria same sex prohibition act of 2013 is against it.
He further revealed that anyone practicing such will never get to Aljanah.
He said that Islam tenets is absolutely against such lifestyle.
On the attack, he condemned the attack on Oyetunde’s Family sometimes in November last year.
He said Nigeria is a nation governed by law and jungle justice should not be condone.
He explained that the attack led to vandalisation of properties and eventual death of one Mr Oyetunde on January this year.
And several degrees of injury were sustained by innocent Family members of the victim.
When asked about the whereabout of the victim and the intervention to forestall further attack, he said there is ongoing engagement with all stakeholder to get to the root of the matter.
That the victim, Oyetunde Bamidele Isaac in no longer in the Country but his family and other innocent Nigerians suffer for his action.
The angry youths believed his parent arranged his relocation abroad.
As a religion institution, Islamic teachings on the subject of lesbianism, homosexual, bisexual and the likes are being encourage for proper orientation and to instill the right believe on Muslim Children, Youths and Young adult.
In conclusion, he said the act of “LGBTQ” and lifestyle is alien to the norms and believe system of Nigerians.
