In a lawsuit filed against the Atiba People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem and three others, by Mr. Afeez Olanrewaju Basorun who appear to be claimants has been dismissed by State High Court in Oyo township. Heritage Echo News report.

Afeez Olanrewaju Basorun, a Supervisory Councilor for Health in the Atiba local government, applied on December 19, 2023, contesting the candidacy of Wahab Waliu Adetunji, where he alleged he misspelled of name on the WAEC result. The case also involves the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the third and fourth defendants, respectively, who were represented by legal practitioners in response to the claimant’s summons.

At the last court session, Olanrewaju Basorun was fined a sum of three hundred thousand nairas for non-filing a response for proper hearing on appearance of new claimant counsel.

While ruling on the case file HOY/54/2023, Lord Justice Prof. Elijah Adewale Taiwo of the State High Court, Oyo township struck it out for lack of merit, non filing proper document of memorandum of appearance by the claimants lawyer.

He thereafter order the claimant to pay another sum of three hundred thousand naira (#300,000,00k), making Six Hundred thousands naira (#600,000,00k) in total within a stipulated time.
