My attention has been drawn to several media reports and online publications describing the recent visit of leaders and stakeholders of Ajorosun Club to my office as a political endorsement meeting.
While I deeply appreciate the overwhelming goodwill, support, and kind sentiments expressed by many people following the visit, it is important to respectfully clarify the true purpose of the gathering.

The meeting was purely a solidarity and courtesy visit by leaders of Ajorosun Club to me as one of the proud members of the association and also in recognition of the longstanding relationship between my family and the prestigious club, of which my late father was a respected founding member.
The purpose of the visit was to wish me well in my endeavors and also, to intimate me of the association’s forthcoming programmes.
At no point was the meeting convened for political endorsement or declaration of any kind, as the engagement itself was non-political in nature. Omo Ajorosun Club is a non-parisan Club that champions the interests of all Ibadan-born, irrespective of political affiliation.
I understand that the blogger and publisher of the original.piece may have interpreted the atmosphere of warmth, solidarity, and excitement surrounding the visit as an endorsement. However, such reports did not accurately reflect the actual proceedings of the meeting.

I therefore kindly urge the public to disregard reports suggesting that the visit amounted to any formal political endorsement.
I sincerely appreciate the leaders and members of Ajorosun Club for the honour, respect, and goodwill shown to me. Any inconveniences that the episode has caused the Club is regretted.
